Alex Altomare

Venture Partner
Founder, Angel Investor, Advisor

Alex Altomare is a serial entrepreneur and seasoned early-stage investor. He co-founded his first startup accelerator program in 2011, expanded to two cities, and built an equity portfolio of over 100 startups before exiting the venture. It continues to serve entrepreneurs today.

Since then, Alex has designed and launched niche incubator, investment, and innovation programs for a municipal government, a Fortune 500 defense firm, a telecommunications firm, and many others. Through his programs and others, he has mentored hundreds of early-stage startups that have raised over $100M in combined follow-on investment, and regularly speaks at conferences and universities on the topics of entrepreneurship, innovation, and business strategy. He is distinguished as a Top Business Connector by the Kauffman Foundation and has won awards as a Techweek Top 100 Innovator and Top 100 Investor.

His passion for education reform led him to serve as founding president of the board for The Lean Lab, a nonprofit startup accelerator focused on bringing innovation to K-12 public schools. He also served as founding president of Raise Your Hand For Kids, a ballot initiative to boost funding for early childhood education resources. He currently serves on Loyola Marymount University’s Hilton School of Business Entrepreneurship Advisory Board, a program that is consistently ranked one of the top in the USA.

When not solving problems, you can find him spending time with his wife and two daughters, skiing, hiking, and enjoying classical and electronic music.
